‘SREE AYYAPPA TEMPLE’ in Bolarum, Secunderabad was constructed by the members of the Society on the land willed by one (Late)Smt.Lakshmi Amma Mudaliar, and Sree Ayyappa Vigraham made of Panchaloha wasconsecrated on the 23 rd January, 1975 by the then Tantri of Sree Ayyappa Temple ofSabarimala according to the ‘Tantric’ rituals followed in Sabarimala Temple and vowed to follow forever those unique tantric rituals which one can witness today.Our founder Chairman Late Sri. R.Balakrishnan and one of the founder trustees Late sri.M.Narayanan kutty, were instrumental in persuading the Late Shrimathi Lakshmi Rajalingam Mudaliar to be our Chair person and donate the Site for the construction of our temple.It was in the year 1973 that the site was willed to the temple by Shrimathi Laksmi Rajalinga Mudaliar and we undertook the construction of the shrines for LORD AYYAPPA, LORD GANESHA and NAGARAJA, which were completed and consecrated during Jan 1975.. The consecration was performed by the Late Sri.THAZHAMON KANTARARU SHANKARARU THANTHRI, the hereditary Chief priest of the Holy Sabarimala Temple. We had been doubly blessed, in that, the Punah Prathishta at Sabarimala had been performed by him after the devastating fire accident that took place in the Sannidhanam in the year 1951.
Our Panchaloha Vigraha was moulded and made by Sri.Patti Achary of Nagercoil, who had moulded the Sabarimala Vigraha too. Thus, the Vigraha Nirmaatha and Prathishta Kartha for both the Holy Sabarimala Temple and Our Temple were one and the same. This is also the first Temple dedicated to LORD AYYAPPA, outside Kerala, in Secunderabad cantonment, in the State of Andhra Pradesh now in Telangana..
Other shrines for Sri Guruvayoorappan, Siva Parvathi, Murugan, Brahmarakshas were also constructed and consecrated one by one, the latest being our DEVI SHRINE. It is indeed a matter of pride to mention that individual devotees had themselves undertaken the construction of the said shrines at their expense. Similarly the marble flooring in front of Sree Ayyappa and other shrines were also undertaken by individual devotees. We are grateful for their kind gesture and pray that the LORD in His Loving Kindness Bestow all that is GOOD for them in Abundance.
This is also a moment for reverence, recalling the valuable services/contribution rendered by Late veterans Brig. M.K.Balachandran, then Sub Area Commander Andhra Sub Area, V N C Pillai, Ramachandran Punna, A.S Nair, V N K Nair, M.N Kutty, K.Vijabalan Unni and other departed souls who are no more with us and offer a prayer in their memory. A lot of concerted devotional efforts have gone into this venture and we earnestly solicit your continued cooperation to help us fulfill the unfinished tasks on hand and build up this institution to a position of repute and a recognised place of worship for all devotees from all over the world.
